Teacher’s Day: NUT recognizes Hon. Abdullahi, he vows to do better in the educational sector (PHOTOS)

In the occasion of celebrating teacher’s day, the Nigerian Union of Teacher (NUT) Niger state branch has recognized Rt. Hon. Abdullahi Idris Garba (Jagaban Kontagora) with an honorable merit award in recognition for his effort towards his educational development in the state, particularly his constituency.

The member who is representing Kontagora/Wushishi/Mariga/Mashegu Federal Constituency at the Green Chambers of the Federal House of Representative made this known via his social media handle even though was not opportune to grace the event, his representative did on his behalf.

He posted as follows; “I want to use this medium to thank Nigeria Union of Teachers for awarding me with a merit award. I would like to dedicated this award to my entire team and my fellow constituents in appreciation of their support and solidarity with my representation. I promise to continue play a very vital role in the development of our beloved constituency.

While speaking with Gulmawuya’s correspondent via photoc the member said “My team and I, we are going to do our best in ensuring we provide a conducive teaching and learning environment for both teachers and students in our constituency. And that can be clearly seen in our constituency projects.”

“We have so far build dozens of classrooms and staff rooms across the four Local Government Areas we are representing. Currently, we constructing a state of the art 1,000 capacity ICT centre at Federal College of Education Kontagora with the aim of reducing the shortage of jamb centers with the area as well as promote use of modern information sources amongst students and staff of the college.”

“In the area of scholarships, we have sponsored dozens of students and are currently sponsoring many students. With this, all I can say is that we are doing our best and will continue to do our best.”

“I want to thank NUT for the award, I am sincerely grateful for the recognition. Thank you.”

Rt. Hon. Abdullahi happens to among the old serving members at the green chambers with a good track record in the area of constituency infrastructural development as well as representation.
