THE 19th FULANI EMIR OF ZAZZAU RENOVATES CENTURIES OLD TRADITIONAL ARCHITECTURE IN HISTORICAL CHAMBERS OF THE PALACE IN ZARIA

On assumption of the stool of his forbears the 19th Fulani Emir of Zazzau His Highness Ambassador Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli embarked upon the renovation of the palace to restore its traditional architecture that has been a feature of the palace with some dating back centuries from the time of the first Emir of Zazzau Mallam Musa in 1804.

The TAKON GIWA chamber which hasn’t been actively used in the last century has now been professionally restored and renovated maintaining its original form and making it habitable and fully functional.

It has about 7 compartments and each has been furnished to present a standard royal chamber which shall be used for both official and private visits to the Emir.

They will also be used for tourism purposes to educate the world on the rich culture of the great Zazzau emirate.

Old picture of the rooms and important traditional artefacts will be displayed in these chambers as well.
