In an event not witnessed in the last century, The 19th Fulani Emir of Zazzau His Highness Ambassador Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli rode on horseback for the Friday prayers at the Abdul-Kareem Central mosque Zaria city.

It is an official visit by the Emir with the full regalia of his office , horses ceremonially dressed, entourage with palace courtiers, local musicians and praise singers accompanying the Emir from the palace to visit his mother Hajiya Kuburat Nuhu Bamalli at her residence The Family House of Magajin Gari Nuhu Bamalli in Kwarbai Quarters Zaria City. He also paid respects to his step mother and other close relatives at the house.
While this is the first time in the history of Zazzau Emirate to ever witness the “Hawan Babban Daki”, It is a well known tradition in some other Emirates more especially Kano, where every once in a while the Emir would ride to his mother’s house on horseback in full regalia in an entourage to pay homage.
As has been common with all his outings from the day of his appointment, the streets were lined up with well wishers extending their greetings and prayers while the Emir acknowledges with the traditional royal clenched fist greetings.
