Jigawa state local government service commission has solicited the support and cooperation of vigilante members in the maintenance of peace and security in local government areas.
The chairman of the commission Alhaji Uba Bala Ringim made the plea when he led members of the commission on a courtesy call to the commandant Jigawa state vigilante group in Dutse.
He expressed appreciation on the contribution s made by vigilante members in the state to supplement the efforts of the law enforcement agencies in the maintenance of security in the state.
Earlier the commander of the state vigilante group Umar Salisu thanked the chairman and his entourage for the visit and assured the command’s full support of providing security at the grass root.
He appealed to the state government to increase four thousand naira monthly allowance of the vigilante personnel.
In another development, the state sector commander of the federal road safety Corp Mr Solomon Agure has paid a similar visit to the state commandant of the vigilante Mallam Umar Salisu and solicited the support and cooperation of the vigilante personnel in the discharge of their duties.
