Power failure: Niger state house of assembly constitute 9 man committee checkmate AEDC

Niger State House of Assembly Constitute a Nine Man committee to checkmate the activities of Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC ) in the state.

This was contain in a motion raised at the floor of the house seeking to find a lasting solution to the incessant collection of monthly Bill’s by AEDC where communities mobilize to provide electricity components, by Malik Madaki Member representing Bosso Constituency .

Malik Madaki explained that over the years transformers,armoured cables,high tension cables and polls provided by communities through their contributions or supported by philatrophtist or politicians do not benefit the communities as immediately its activated the AEDC starts sending monthly bill.

The lawmaker stressed that their is need to ensure that where electricity component is provided by communities, the communities must benefit through non- payment of Bill’s until such a time the amount expended in providing this facilities is defrayed.
